Did you know that you can approximate your competitors fee schedule? Review of Medicare utilization files will allow you to look at what the Medicare Charges were by that practice and the allowable amounts that they received for those procedures. Given these two pieces of information, you can quickly estimate the multiple of Medicare that they are charging. Similarly, you can take a look at your own fee schedule and estimate what amounts your billing service or your back office are “adjust off” to keep your AR low.
